PHILOSOPHY

Bayside Childcares Philosophy is a mission statement identifying or beliefs and practices. Our centres philosophy has been influenced by staff, children and families that utilise the service and reflects on current practices in the early childhood field.

We believe that a child learns best when they feel safe and secure in their environment.

We are committed to maintaining continuity of care and providing  warm, friendly environments through our interactions with the children, parents and peers.

We are committed to providing a place where everyone feels ‘at home.’

We are committed to provide an inclusive childcare program by creating a safe and healthy environment in which all children regardless of gender, ability, ethnicity, or background are given opportunities to develop to their maximum potential.

We are committed to offer experiences/activates that will encourage each child to actively participate in the program.

We will offer a program which reflects each child’s needs, abilities, interests and which enhances all areas of his/her development by providing a program which follows the Early Years Learning Framework and the Five Practice principles :

1. IDENTITY

2. COMMUNITY

3. WELLBEING

4. LEARNING

5. COMMUNICATION

Our centres learning values incorporates aspects three educational theories;

- Rudolf Steiner

- Reggio Emilio

- Montessori

We believe that these educational theories together with observations and staff interpretation will create a stimulating and sensitive environment for optimum learning outcomes.

We are committed to facilitate this learning environment by only providing age appropriate and quality equipment and resources for use within the program. These resources will be provided to use and create the optimum environment for exploring and learning.

We believe in a collaborative approach to childcare including children, parents, guardians, staff and management and where necessary other agencies will enable us to provide a service which will enhance each individual child’s development and provide a service that is accessible, flexible and responsive to the needs of the Community.

We believe the best outcomes for children and families are achieved when educators are skilled and engaged, therefore we encourage educators to take advantage of professional and personal development opportunities, to ensure they remain aware of current practices and further enhance their knowledge.

We believe that the rights of the staff are recognised and observed.

Our staff will hold the appropriate qualification under current government regulations and acts.

Bayside Childcare is committed to health and safety and will maintain and adhere to current guidelines at all times.
